MASTER OF MONDAYS

Where first-time people managers gain essential leadership skills.

Have you ever had these thoughts as a new manager?

“Next time my team member does [poor behaviour], I’ll say something”

“How can I go from being mates with my team members, to being their boss?”

“I feel scattered and unprepared in every 1:1 meeting”

“How on earth can I deal with people management along with my existing workload?”

We get it.

Stepping into a new leadership role can feel like a big leap. You were part of a team, and now suddenly you’re managing people, juggling expectations and trying to figure out how to gain respect as someone in charge.

But what if, you stepped out of your usual daily management role and were coached by highly experienced leadership experts?

Be it online or in-person, you learn alongside an intimate group of other managers who are all new to leading people, just like you.

You learn simple yet effective frameworks to make people management seamless and stress-free.

Yes, there are countless books, podcasts and courses on leadership out there. These can be information overload, and let’s be honest – who has time to read about generic leadership theory and actually apply it?

Two young women sitting on a couch, smiling and engaged in conversation, near a window with natural light, with an open magazine on a small table in front of them.

A few years ago, Mon felt like a passive, stressed and inconsiderate leader. She missed important conversations and put off giving feedback because it was uncomfortable (for everyone involved!).

She ran a HR Consulting business with a small team and was a people expert, but putting the advice into practice was somehow too hard.

In her family business – a hospitality venue with 85 employees – Mon always felt like there was too many moving parts, and the people management side was chaotic and too reactive. She only dealt with team issues when they arose, which was too late!

A conference room setup for a training session titled 'Master of Mondays' with a large screen displaying the session title, a table with blue folders, glasses, and water bottles, and a background of shelves with bottles and decorative items.

After 12 years in Human Resources and business ownership, working alongside hundreds of emerging leaders, Mon started to recognise the people management frameworks and lessons that *actually* worked; resulting in a happy team who wants to stick around.

INTRODUCING… MASTER OF MONDAYS: MODERN EDUCATION FOR FIRST-TIME MANAGERS

YOUR HOSTS

Monica Moore

Founder and Director, Monday HR

Young woman with long brown hair smiling, wearing a brown shirt, sitting on a dark blue sofa in a cozy, dimly lit room with a lamp and decorative plant in the background.

Monica is a senior people and leadership specialist and founder of Monday HR. She has been in your shoes before (as an emerging leader) and knows first-hand how hard people management can be.

After 12 years in HR, Mon wanted to combine her HR and Leadership knowledge, to give new leaders the confidence to manage people effectively.

She wants to give you all the key lessons, shortcuts and templates so that you don’t have to learn everything the hard way - like she did.

Aside from managing a team of HR Consultants, she is closely involved in her family business (a hospitality venue with 85 employees), which gives her a practical understanding of the challenges leaders face on a daily basis.

In these workshops, Mon will respectfully challenge your preconceived notions of leadership. She will teach powerful frameworks to make you a more effective and confident leader - tools you can use the very next day.

Are you ready to stop the internal chaos and stress that comes with leading a team?
Do you want to learn practical leadership skills, frameworks and lessons which you can apply immediately?

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Across six focused modules, you’ll learn how to move from reacting to problems, to leading with clarity, structure and trust.

Develop your leadership mindset
Understand your natural leadership style, strengths and blind spots through a personalised personality profile. You’ll explore the leader you want to be known as, while learning practical strategies to manage your energy, set boundaries and avoid the common burnout traps that many new managers face.

Create structure that keeps your team aligned
Learn how to establish simple communication rhythms that reduce chaos and keep everyone moving in the same direction. You’ll build a clear leadership cadence that supports planning, accountability and strong team connection.

Build trust through effective feedback
Confident leaders know how to give feedback that strengthens relationships rather than damaging them. You’ll learn practical approaches to navigating performance conversations, delivering clear feedback and leaning into difficult discussions with confidence.

Set expectations that drive performance
High-performing teams are built on clarity. This module focuses on defining roles, expectations and success measures so your team understands what good looks like and how their work contributes to the bigger picture.

Lead through coaching, not constant problem-solving
Many new managers fall into the trap of fixing every issue themselves. You’ll learn when to coach, when to direct and how to delegate in a way that builds capability and ownership within your team.

Grow your team so you can lead at a higher level
Great leaders don’t just manage work, they develop people. You’ll learn how to grow capability within your team, adapt your leadership style to different individuals and create a team that can operate confidently without constant oversight.
